As every man, the monk has to earn his bread. The cistercian tradition has always required that the monk works with his hands.
As a normal part of monastic life, work is lived in a silence full of the presence of God, and in the joy of the service for God and the brethren.
At the Oelenberg Abbey, on the top of farming activities (vegetable garden, orchard, wheat, corn and potatoes cultivations), we have a mill which produces a highly appreciated flour.
Our monastic craft industry produces pasta as well as cookies, cakes, meringues... All the products are for sale retail in our monastic shop with a number of products from other monasteries.

Opening times: Monday from 1:30 pm to 6:00 pm; from Tusday to Friday from 8:30 am to 12:00 pm and 1:30 pm to 6:00 pm ; on Saturdays from 8:30 am to 12:00 pm and 1:30 pm to 5:00 pm. Closed on Sundays and Monday morning.
